SEO savvy W3C Validation

I have just completed and posted the core data for the W3C Validation step for the online seo course.

The beauty of this step is that you don't need to know much about html at all to use this step. Just copy and paste your web page url into the appropriate window and the validation machine does the rest. Then you can either work it out to fix it or have your webmaster fix it.

If you don't have a webmaster, you should use our services of course.

Finding Places

When you feel like taking a break from coding your web pages and if you haven't done so already, make sure you get your site listed on Google Places. Simply Google the bold letters to get you there.

This will get you listed on Google maps so that local people can find you easier. This is a valid method of attracting visitors to your site. Some people like to search only local businesses and this will set you up for those that do exactly that.

What can i use instead of photoshop for awesome logos?

If you have a little spare time on your hands and you want to create a professional looking logo, i highly recommend you have a look at inkscape version 4.81. Just scroll down the page to Image Editing and download and install the file.

This inkscape software does a beaut job of rendering your fonts into all shapes and colors. You can even load in your own textures. The price? Freeware = Free.

But you wouldn't think so when you look at the quality graphics this program produces.

campisi gives it a thumbs up!

Poaching Content

Bloggers should be aware that there is software that some use that can scour and capture your posts, with or without ads in them, and automatically change a word here or there and if you have ads, then reinsert their own user payment tracking id in those same ads, rename the author of the post and list it on their blog as if they are the one who wrote it.

Nasty.

other stuff by Campisi

When i first setup this blogger blog, my usb network device was starting to give me hell by randomly dropping out. As a result, i accidentally started two blogs. This one is specifically for the seo part of my main site, but i thought i might leave the other one up and ramble about what ever i want to ramble about.

So here is the other blog site if you want to check me out rambling on other stuff. You can post comments etc on that one too and i might even leave them!

How can we tell if our website is popular?

A Benchmark tool for websites

If we had a tool which could tell us if our website is popular today, and then tell us if we are popular again tomorrow, that would be a great tool..

Well there is such a tool, and it's free, and that is the question we explore in the first module of the free online seo course.

statcounter and wots my ip

Was considering the statcounter installation step again today and thought i may as well display your ip address during the project setup step. This makes the setup of your statcounter alot easier because you can just copy and paste your IP right then and there.

You get a much clearer picture of your statistics if you filter out your own hits.

So i went back and threw in a little code that brings it up for you.

W3C HTML Markup Validation as an SEO Tool

Ok, i've had some time to get started on the fifth module: W3C HTML Markup Validation as an SEO Tool

This training module expands on why or why not an SEO should validate his own code and then steps you through the validation process. Here's a quote from from the page:

...Now let's take a look at W3C Validation on a practical level.
Only a dingbat would skip W3C validation of his own web page coding....

Organic Seo Techniques

Organic Seo Techniques are those methods we use to grow our serp listings without needing to open our wallets.

Of course, this is the purpose of doing the free online seo training course found at the WebsiteAdministrator.com.au website which helps to lay the foundation of green means.

Especially if you are just starting to develop your seo techniques, you can pick up the location of some very interesting free green tools and learn a little on how to use them. I would recommend getting a course subscription because you can ask at any time for some real help on your own code.

Just adding a h1 tag at the top of the page helps, but if you really want to do well, make your site healthy first.

Cleaning HTML code online

Ok, status report...

Back to the future # I in italian found it's way into the usb slot in the dvd player. And there, near to the start, a bunch of clocks roll by on the picture screen, all set to the same time except for one in the background ...oops!

But that is how i felt yesterday, one of my clocks got missed and i lost a few hours from my normal 28 hour day.

So i have now finished that planned update to the  html tidy pages. I'll add a couple of interesting extra curricular study stuff at a later date. So next will be the updates to validating your html code pages. That'll be a coupla days into the future.

Anyway, here's a teaser quote from the tidy pages in our online DIY SEO training course:

...The number of doctype errors which do exist in many top serp results leads us to believe that our search engines have abandoned W3C guidelines to quality standards in html coding....

First post on the WAS SEO Online Course

Hi every one, (or is it just me?)

In between life and livingness, i am updating and posting a free online seo course that steps the webmaster through the Do-It-Yourself basics of seo. I am creating this so that those of you who are not sure where to start have an entrance point to the subject.  The course is free but can be done in several ways which means I am here to help if you get stuck or need someone to do the steps for you.

If you find the course useful or think it might help others around you, share the url or link it from your pages.

Where am i up to now? It is not moving forward as i went backward to better link the pages. I am currently revamping the first steps to clean your html code. That should be complete later today and I can start on the next section. The first ten should be finished in about two-three weeks. Maybe sooner.
